Guided Day Hikes in Valemount
and
Mount Robson Provincial Park
Why go Day Hiking?
While there are a great number of roadside viewpoints in the Canadian Rockies, to truly experience the landscape it is best to lace up your boots and go for a hike. Whether you are in the mood for a pleasant stroll in the forest, or looking to hike to the top of a peak there is much to see. Take a look at the list below or feel free to get in touch about a custom day hiking adventure.
If you have a bit more time in the hills, consider one of our guided backpacking adventures that travel to some of the most scenic and alluring destinations in Jasper National Park and Mount Robson Provincial Park and have been selected for their remoteness, and grand settings.
Note: Unlike for our Guided Backpacking Adventures, transportation to/from the trailheads is not provided for day hikes. You will need to make your own way to the trailhead unless specified in the trip itinerary.
Why Choose Starry Summit?
Day hiking is a great way to start out your career in the outdoors or to keep building your backcountry travel skills. Guests choose guided adventures for many reasons including:
Learning about the landscape (gain local knowledge about natural history, wildlife, and plants)
Safety (guides are skilled in managing backcountry hazards and certified in advanced wilderness first aid and emergency responses)
Skill building (learn better backcountry travel, navigation, and self-sufficient wilderness expertise)

How Hard Are Trips, Is it for Me?
Our Day Hiking objectives normally travel between 10-15 km per day with between 500-1000 m of elevation gain. Guest pack weight need not be any heavier than 10-15 pounds and your guide can help carry extra food and water. We recommend each guest start training for their adventure by day-hiking, climbing stairs, and other activities prior to setting off to improve their experience while out in the wilderness.
